Description

This recipe was inspired by the combination of strawberries peaches and cream as a dessert. The fruit flavours work really well together and the cashew nuts provide a neutral base for the milk.

The first thing you will notice is how easy it is to make delicious healthy flavoured nut milks at home using your cold press juicer.  You don’t need any extra accessories, it is made using the standard juice strainer that comes with the juicer.

A healthy alternative to store-bought flavoured milk.

Taste

Light and creamy with a sweet strawberry peach flavour.

Ingredients

  • 4 peaches, seeds removed
  • 100g strawberries
  • 1 cup raw unsalted cashews, soaked
  • 2 cups filtered water


Preparation

 

Strawberry

  • Pull off the small green leaves, you can juice them if you want
  • Juice whole

Peaches

  • Cut a full circle horizontal to the seam
  • Twist into halves
  • Cut the half with the seed along the seam
  • Twist into quarters
  • Pull out the seed

Cashew Nuts

  • Place cashew nuts in a small bowl and cover with water
  • Allow to soak overnight (or for 2 hours in warm water)
  • Discard the water

     

    Cold Press Juicing Method

    First, make the cashew nut milks.

    Start with the cap closed when making nut milks. Add a handful of cashews to the juicer followed by a 1/4 of the water. Continue alternating between cashew nuts and water until all the water has been added.

    Open the cap to release the nut milks before juicing the fruits.

    Add the strawberries next. You can add them all at the same time.

    Juice the peaches last adding a few pieces at a time letting the juicer press through each time before adding more.

    Tip: use peaches that are firm because they will press better through he juicer

    Peaches
